Deelightwork Story

My work sits at the intersection of nature, tradition, and contemporary design. With a background in antiquities conservation, I learned to slow down, pay attention, and respect the story inside every material. That mindset guides my craft today.

I create handcrafted lamps using gourds — a humble, historic material found throughout the Greek countryside and often grown in my own garden. Each gourd has its own shape, personality, and imperfections, and those natural qualities determine the final design. No two pieces will ever be the same, and that uniqueness is the heart of my work.

The process is slow, deliberate, and fully handmade. I clean and prepare each gourd, carve patterns that follow its natural curves, and finish it with earthy, minimal tones that highlight the warmth of the material. The patterns can be geometric or organic, but they always stay true to the form nature created.

Every lamp is crafted with eco-friendly materials and safe, low-heat LED bulbs to preserve the integrity of the gourd. The goal is simple: create pieces that feel alive, honest, and connected to the world they come from.

These lamps are more than objects — they are small stories of nature, time, and human touch. When one enters your space, it doesn’t just illuminate the room; it brings warmth, presence, and a sense of quiet beauty.
